 Install Umberllo UML Modeller on windows

Umbrello UML Modeller is a Unified Modelling Language (UML) diagram program for KDE.
- > Umbrello handles all the standard UML diagram types like use case digrams and class diagrams.
- > It can generate (output) : ActionScript, Ada, C#, C++, D, IDL, Java, JavaScript, Pascal, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, SQL, Tcl and XML Schema.

- > It can reverse engineer code written in C++, IDL, Pascal/Delphi, Python, Ada and Java, as well as import XMI files generated by external tools.

Some of you may say that this is a Linux only tool. This is not correct since you can easily install it under Windows. Just take a look at the installation info below.

Requirements : KDE For Windows (On which Umbrello runs)

Steps for installing KDE for windows and Umbrello :

 1.Double click KDE installer (*.exe file, example : kdewin-installer-gui-latest.exe), You will see a window that looks like this :


      2.Choose “Install From Internet” for type operation, and then click the “Next >” button at the bottom of the screen.

      3.On the window “Installation Directory”, click the “Browse …” button to change default directory if needed, and then click the “Next >” button.

     4.On the window “Local Storage Setting”, click the “Browse …” button to change default directory, and then click the “Next >” button.

     5.On the window “Internet Setting”, click the radio button “I have a direct connection to the internet”, and then click the “Next >” button.

     6.In the window “Download Server Setting”, Choose “Central Europe, Germany (http://www.winkde.org)” to install the application at faster download speed, you can also choose server of your choice,and then click the “Next” button.(wait until it connects to server and display available releases).

     7.The next step, On the window “Release Selection”, choose Stable Release for Available Release, an then click the “Next >” button.

8.In the window “Package Selection”, choose “Umbrello” to install the application, and then click the “Next >” button.

9.The next step, you will get a confirmation on the package will be downloaded, click the “Next >” button to download and install packages.(wait until it get installed to your system)


 10.To complete the installation process click the “Finish” button. You should see a window that looks like this :

Running Umbrello

~ > Start menu > All programs > KDE Release > Development > Umbrello(UML Modeller)
~ > If using windows 7 : click start menu and type Umbrello in search box.
You will see a window that looks like this :
